Luxor, Egypt -- The funerary temple of Hatshepsut, cut into the cliffs at the west edge of the Nile River valley at Deir el-Bahri, near the Valley of the Kings. Hatshepsut famously was the queen who ruled Egypt as a king (male) and may have heretically had herself burried as Pharoah in the Valley of the Kings. Subsequent pharoahs tried to obliterate evidence and monuments to Hatshepsut (beginning possibly from the reign of Thutmos III, several years after Hatshepsut's death and entombment)....
