On entering Karak Castle the visitor's path leads through a massive and light-filled central hall. Karak stands at the top of a massive promontory near the Dead Sea in Jordan. It was built at the extreme end of their domain by the crusaders of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. © Rick Collier
