One of the many local vendors takes a souvenir snapshot of a tourist by the lake, at the iconic spot in the grounds of the Hindu temple of Ulun Danu at Candikuning, on Bali, Indonesia. Located in the high hills of the Bedugul, about 30 miles north of Bali's capital city of Denpasar, the temple is built on the shores of the crater Lake Bratan (formed from the sunken crater of a long-dormant volcano). Much of the inner precincts of the temple is closed to the (non-Hindu) public, but the gardens are spectacular and feature fabulous shrines, statuary, and views. The iconic tourist image is the two "water shrines," which these days are usually partially submerged in the waters of Lake Bratan.
