The Halimeda Ghost Pipefish is probably a subspecies of the more commonly recognized Robust Ghost Pipefish. This ghost pipefish is colored green and gray and is normally found hiding in patches of Halimeda algae (the green leaves in the background of this shot). We found this pipefish in a gap in the reef surrounding the island of Manado Tua, the distinctive volcano island near Bunaken Island, in the Bunaken National Park off North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
