A brown spiny waspfish sways in the surge current, looking like a drifting leaf on the sandy bottom of the Lembeh Strait (North Sulawesi, Indonesia). Like all scorpionfish, stonefish, or lionfish, the waspfish possesses poisonous barbs in its erect fins, which can deliver a painful sting to anyone unwary enough to put a hand or foot down on the fish.
